Redneck Express 2016 ReCap and What 2017 will bring
Lets start with the fact that Chris and Sharon have been racing Top Fuel motorcycles since 1979 when they teamed up with Denny Hickman. Since then they have been a fixture on the Top Fuel Dragbike scene with the exception of the time needed to replace the RNE after Chris’ get off at Gainesville in 2005.
The recent decade has always been Larry McBride and Chris Hand leading the way, with Tommy Smith with one of Elmers old bikes The Pollard machine (now Vantine/Pollard), Korry Hogan first with Alwine/Dryden/Hogan then Alwine /Hogan We have seen the return of multi winner Sam Wills
There were many races it was only Larry and Chris running in Top Fuel Metric
Along the way, after IHRA dropped the Nitro Twins and AHDRA closing up shop we were happy to see several of those teams come and mix it up with us.
In the last two years we have seen the resurgence of Metric Top Fuel bikes with the now retired Alwine/Hogan Dave VAntine taking over the Pollard "5 machine", Wills Dryden, Dennis Bradley with Mitch Brown riding, the expected return of Terry Kizer to top fuel.
As for the RedNeckExpress for 2017 we now have a baseline for several tracks and the engines and are ready to turn up the wick!!!!
