The crew for this race consisted of Crew chief Sharon Hand, Steve Legendre, Dick Boxell and Jim Fox makes the trip down, push back duties from Ron Raymond

During the break in racing caused by Galot race not being ran Chris sends out the Racepac for repairs and gets it back in time for test firings at Barber Motorsports park. Also during this time he gets the new supercharger setup and installed

Friday Q1 Session

With Galahad in the frame rails we ready for the Q1 session on Friday, Fire the bike and sounds healthy.
Tow up to the staging lanes perform final preparations for the run and line the bike up to the right lane.
We fire the bike and on the way through the burnout box the drive tire catches a corner of the tire on the edge of the burnout box almost tipping the bike on the framerail, Chris decides to not take this pass and shuts the RNE down.
We return to the pit area and discuss a different approach through the burnout box.

Saturday Q2

With Galahad still in the frame rails we ready for the second round of qualifying Fire the bike and sounds healthy.

We decide on an alternate procedure on bringing the bike through the burnout box by Fox and I pushing the RNE and Chris through it, Chris said we will continue this procedure. Tow up to the staging lanes perform final preparations for the run and line the bike up to the left lane.

We push the bike forward as discussed and perform the burnout, OK one step further than last night!

Steve L and Rob push the bike back , Chris lines up , after Sharon arms the Racepak that is now working, the lights drop and BOOM, the pipes light up and the RNE explodes off the line with a 1.005 60ft time and still running hard to the 1/8 at 3.83ET 203 MPH!, Shortly thereafter #4 quits then the other 3 follow suit, damn.

Still runs a 6.01 @194, at this point we sit #1 until Dave Vantine on a mission runs a 5.86.

We get the bike back and it has shucked ALL the teeth of the fuel pump drive belt, turning it into a rubber band with Kevlar windings. Also we change out the fuel pump just in case it may have an issue, but it turns well with no catches.

Galahad is not feeling well, so we call Merlin into duty and just miss the Q3 by about 1/2hr

Chris then takes Galahad apart and finds #2and 3 pistons being Nitro plasma cut , so Chris starts to build up Galahad to fighting condition.

Sunday E1

With Merlin fresh and ready in the frame rails we ready for first Round, Fire the bike and sounds healthy.

Jim Fox with his eagle eyes, spots some loose rubber on the drive tire, so we change it out while Chris continues rebuilding Galahad.

We are 3rd qualifier, Mitch Brown on Dennis Bradleys’ Top Fuel bike is to be our opponent for first round, and we are first pair out Right as we drop the bike Chris makes a fuel adjustment.

Tow up to the staging lanes perform final preparations for the run and line the bike up to the left lane.

We perform the startup and burnout procedure, again pushing Chris and the RNE through the waterbox. Chris launches the bike, after Sharon arms the Racepak that is now working, but it seems lazy and almost immediately starts dropping holes They leave amost together with Mitch having a small lead. Both bikes expire about 800 to 1000 ft and Chris ducks under the fairing as far as possible to try and out coast Mitch, Mitch wins.

They have almost identical 7.77ETs but Mitch with the starting line advantage wins.
We get the bike back and Merlin has the same illness Galahad succumbed to.
