Blaine Hale and Dwight Drum

When I first walked into the work trailer of Blaine Hale, my first thought was… why did we take so long to get here? Blaine rides one of the few Kawasaki Pro Stock Motorcycles in the NHRA, and we often had him on our list of racers to interview. We walked by his trailer often when he and his team which includes his father, the former four wheel drag racer Clayton Hale, were out racing or busy tuning. Blaine calls himself….Hired Gun. That's an appropriate name for a Texan. Join us at the threshold of Blaine's trailer as I talk to this straight shooter.

Blaine Hale, the Hired Gun, the straight shooter, is a Texan ready to cause a racing moment. It's refreshing to question racers like Blaine. We find many like him in the NHRA ranks, but it always a treat to look into the eyes of a brave racer, and get answers as swift as a good run. This Hired Gun seems to be a notch higher on the honesty scale, and that translates to good answers. We listened and came away with staunch reactions. This polite Texan is the kind of gun we would hire too…if we were hiring. When I went hunting for one word to describe Blaine, I had to find a word almost as big as Texas. That's a tall order. That requires a strong word. Gary and I agreed…Blaine Hale is…
